The IXth Makhmutov readings: professional education and mentoring in the period of educational transformations of the 21st century were held at Elabuga Institute of Kazan Federal University

The International scientific and practical conference "IXth Makhmutov readings: professional education and mentoring in the period of educational transformations of the 21st century" was held at Elabuga Institute of Kazan Federal University.

The event lasted from September 26 to 27 in a mixed form. The IXth International Makhmutov Readings were attended by scientists and researchers from the Center of Educational Initiatives of the Ministry of Education of Russian Federation (Moscow), the Republican Institute of professional Education (Minsk, Republic of Belarus), the Institute of the Development of Professional Education under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Republic of Uzbekistan (Tashkent), Mariupol State University named after A.I. Kuindzhi, Kazan Federal University, Orenburg State Pedagogical University, Institute of Development of Education (Republic of Tatarstan), Moscow Pedagogical State University, Medical College of Naberezhnye Chelny, Polytechnic College of Zainsk, Almetyevsk Polytechnic College and many others.

The organization of the conference is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Tatarstan and Russian Academy of Education. The co-organizers of the conference were the Academy of Sciences of Republic of Tatarstan, Institute of the Development of Education of Republic of Tatarstan assisted by of PJSC ‘Tatneft’ named after Valentin Dmitrievich Shashin, Kazan Federal University.

The event started with watching a movie about life and work of M.I. Makhmutov. The director of Elabuga Institute of KFU Elena Efimovna Merzon opened the event:

"We are glad to welcome you in Elabuga Institute of Kazan Federal University at the IXth International Makhmutox Readings.

It is significant that the conference takes place at the year declared by the President of Russia as the Year of Teacher and Mentor. Its aim is not only to draw attention to this profession and pay respect to our teachers and mentors, but also to increase the interest of young people in pedagogics, to attract creative, capable, active applicants to pedagogical universities, who, after graduation, will come to work to school.

Makhmutov readings is a unique conference. It brings together the representatives of government, business, and educational organizations of various levels. This is a place for dialogue, exchange of experience and best practices, a place for establishing friendship and contacts. More than half a century ago Mirza Ismailovich in his works, formulated ideas that confirm the necessity for such direct dialogue, and he also formulated the key aspects of this interaction.

The conference participants were greeted by Dilyara Shakirova, associate professor, the leading researcher of the Institute of Educational Development, Honored Teacher of the Republic of Tatarstan - “Today is the ninth Makhmutov readings, but the fourth in Elabuga. I would like to express my gratitude to Elabuga Institute, which has been hosting guests and conference participants in recent years. Elena Efimovna, thank you for your loyalty to the idea, consistency and organization. Go on!”

The guests of the conference were greeted by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Republic of Tatarstan Ramil Khairullin and Doctor of Philology, Deputy Director of Scientific Work of the Institute of Language, Literature and Art named after. G. Ibragimov of the Academy of Sciences of Republic of Tatarstan Oleg Khisamov, expressing gratitude for preserving the traditions of Makhmutov’s readings. The guests noted that the scientific works of Mirza Ismailovich are relevant to this day and resonate with modern scientists.

The event was followed by plenary session. The conference moderator was Olga Oleinikova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, laureate of the Russian Government Prize in the field of education, Director of the Center of the Study of Problems of Vocational Education

The first who was invited to the microphone was a student of Mirza Ismailovich, corresponding member of Russian Academy of Education, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of Department of Higher Education at the Institute of Psychology and Education of KFU, Honored Scientist of Russian Federation, Laureate of the Government of Russian Federation in the field of education, Gasanguseyn Ibragimov. In his report, he spoke about M.I. Makhmutov as a mentor in science, sharing his memories. “Mirza Ismailovich was a large-scale and high-flying person. Makhmutov’s personality as a mentor was extraordinary. He was always involved in social activities and could see details from a large angle.

The next speaker at the plenary session was Natalia Zolotareva, Associate Professor, Advisor to the General Director of the Center for Educational Initiatives of the Ministry of Education of Russian Federation, Advisor to the Minister of Education of Russian Federation, Deputy Chairman of the Commission on Education and Education of the Public Chamber of Russian Federation. The main topic of Natalya Mikhailovna’s speech was the tasks of opening professional education at the present stage, which will help to solve one of the main problems of the economy - the lack of personnel.

Valery Golubovsky, director of the Republican Institute of Vocational Education, spoke about the development of vocational education in the Republic of Belarus. Valery Nikolaevich shared significant changes in the open source software system and new tasks set for it. Andrey Glazkov, head of the personnel department of PJSC TATNEFT, in his speech mentioned that the education system is now becoming a system of personal development.

‘It is very important that the entire population is involved in the system of personal development. After all, it is important to provide proper support to everyone; not to forget that personality is developing at all stages of life. Our task as a company is to provide opportunities for this. We are happy to form new approaches together with you’said Andrey Nikolaevich.

Mohira Adhamova, chief specialist at the Institute of the Development of Vocational Education under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, spoke about cooperation, prospects and opportunities in the field of secondary vocational education in Uzbekistan.

Alfiya Masalimova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Higher School Pedagogy at KFU, laureate of the State Prize of Republic of Tatarstan named after M.I. Makhmutov, shared the results of her research in the field of complementary mentoring in the development of university personnel potential. A new mentoring laboratory was created at the Institute of Vocational and Technical Pedagogics in Kazan, which developed the concept of mentoring for the entire country. That is why, Kazan school can be considered as a flagship in the development of mentoring methodology in Russia,” added Alfiya Rafisovna.

An important goal of the conference is to attract young scientists, graduate students and students to research the problems of modern pedagogics, which so vividly resonate with the scientific ideas of the teacher and the organizer of education, orientalist, academician of the Russian Academy of Education and the Academy of Sciences of Republic of Tatarstan M.I. Makhmutov. One of the main tasks is to preserve Makhmutov’s creative heritage.

Within the IXth Makhmutov Readings, a personal scholarship was established named after M.I. Makhmutov in order to stimulate research activities of students in the field of pedagogy, development of the theory and practice of problem-based learning. This year, the scholarship winners were 4th year student of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Evdokia Zaripova, and 2nd year master’s student Olga Gulyaeva.

The work of sections was organized on the second day of the conference, which was devoted to current problems of school and secondary vocational education. Round tables with the participation of leading scientists in the field of pedagogical sciences, representing the Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Tatarstan, the Academy of Sciences of Republic of Tatarstan, as well as the Russian Academy of Education took place.
