Cooperation with the University of Strasbourg was Supported by a Supplementary Agreement

Today, on the 6th of May, a Supplementary Agreement to International Cooperation Agreement (of November 30, 2011) was signed in KFU between the University of Strasbourg and Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University.

During the meeting preceding the Agreement signing ceremony the Rector of KFU, Mr. Ilshat Gafurov, the Director of the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Strasburg, Mr. Jean-Marс Planeix, and professor of the University of Strasburg, Mr. Alexandre Varnek, discussed cooperation results and exchanged opinions concerning further partnership.

At the meeting KFU was represented by: Vice-Rector for Research, Mr. Danis Nurgaliyev, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Mr. Linar Latypov, Director of Butlerov Institute of Chemistry, Mr. Vladimir Galkin, head of the Department of Organic Chemistry, Mr. Igor Antipin, and junior researcher of the aforesaid Department, Mr. Timur Madzhidov.

The Rector thanked the French colleagues for support of the Master’s Degree Program for Chemoinformatics.

Mr. Jean-Marc Planeix, in his turn, thanked the University exe­cutives for a cordial reception. “The University of Strasburg, like your University, underwent changes several years ago. They prompted us to revise our international ties. Kazan Federal University has always been in the list of our main foreign partners. I am sure that our cooperation stipulated in the Agreement will be both implemented in practice and open perspectives of joint researches in other fields”, – underlined Mr. Planeix.

The guest also shared the impressions of his visit to KFU: “Laboratories which I saw today are well equipped. Here you have a brilliant intellectual potential.  It is not for nothing that Butlerov Institute of Chemistry is known all over the world.”

Afterwards the Supplementary Agreement and the Supplementary Agreement Protocol to Organize Training in the Framework of International Partnership (A Program of Double Diploma in Chemoinformatics) were signed during a solemn ceremony.

The documents were signed by the Director of the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Strasbourg, Mr. Jean-Marc Planeix, and the Director of Butlerov Institute of Chemistry, Mr. Vladimir Galkin.

Furthermore, tomorrow, on the 7th of May, a lecture on the topic “Chemical education in France” will be delivered in Butlerov’s room of the University. It is also planned to discuss joint academic programs in the sphere of Supramolecular Chemistry.
