The main focus of training will be the art of design

On February 11, the presentation of Architecture and Design School "ArchaD" took place in the scientific House of collaboration at Elabuga Institute of KFU. The project start was laid in December: it began when there was a meeting of the director of Elabuga Institute of KFU Elena Merzon, Deputy Director for Development of the Institute of Design and Spatial Arts Stepan Novikov and the chief architect of Elabuga Ilnara Gilyazova. As the result it was decided to organize a summer camp of architectural and design shift for schoolchildren of the city and the region and students of Design and Spatial Arts Institute of KFU.

It is planned that the basic directions of the school "ArchaD" will be: modeling, drawing, architectural styles, urban planning design. Students will be able to develop creative and technical thinking. The teachers will be masters of their craft: Ilnara Gilyazova, the chief architect of Elabuga; Margarita Valitova, a practicing designer, designer, as well as the teaching staff of the Institute of Design and Spatial Arts of KFU.

"The school will be unique. This is a completely new project in our city, district and KFU. We’ll study the basics of design, architecture and urban planning: where the city begins, where its construction begins. Students of "ArchaD", aged from 10 to 18 years, will learn how to model and model objects of the urban environment," Ilnara Gilyazova, one of the initiators of the school, shared the concept of the school.

From the first minutes of its creation, the School of Architecture and Design made a proper impression on the audience, and its idea found a response among those present at the presentation.

"My child being already in the 7th grade decided where to enter: the Institute of Architecture. And, as it turned out, there are no places in our city and region where you can go to prepare for admission to such a university: there is no drawing at school, there are no directions focused on this specialty. And then, as if by order, the "ArchaD" appears. This is a great platform to try yourself in a creative direction," Ekaterina Kashapova, mother of a student of the "ArchaD" school, admitted after the presentation.
