'We are going to overcome this,' assures general practitioner of the University Clinic

Natalia Mikhaylova spoke about why she chose this profession and how her first months at work have went.

Dr. Mikhaylova was born in Bashkortostan and received her medical degree in Orenburg Oblast – both provinces are adjacent to Tatarstan (where Kazan Federal University is located).

“My choice fell on Kazan. The University Clinic of Kazan Federal University made an offer after having read my CV. I started working here in 2020, and I must note that workplace conditions here are great,” she said.

Mikhaylova shared her outlook on how the Clinic responds to the challenges of the COVID pandemic, “When we finished our studies, we had already known that we would have to face the pandemic. All patients go through a general practitioner before being directed to necessary specialists. We have many house calls, and many people arrive to the Clinic as well. Persons with fever are not allowed to workplaces now, so the influx of visiting patients has grown. But the hardships are temporary. I believe that we are going to overcome this.”

Medical workers continue to fulfill their duties while doubling efforts. As of now, different routes are mapped in the Clinic’s buildings for patients with respiratory illness symptoms and all others. Body temperature control is conducted at entrances.
