The document was signed on 2 November during the Kazan-Yantai 2020 Technological Innovation Dialogue.

KFU was represented by Vice-Rector for Innovation and Digital Transformation Dmitry Pashin and Counsellor to the Rector for International Cooperation Linar Latypov.

The sides showed films about their respective universities and discussed cooperation prospects.

Yantai University is based in Yantai, Shandong, China. Shandong is the first Chinese province to have signed a cooperation agreement with the Republic of Tatarstan (2008). Both Yantai University and KFU are in close partnership with HAIER, one of Chinese tech powerhouses.

Currently, KFU has cooperation ties with 38 Chinese universities and is a home for 1,404 Chinese students. Yantai has joined this list. The memorandum was signed by vice-rectors Dmitry Pashin and Song Zhongmin.

“The memorandum will stimulate both parties to seek points of joint interest. It includes stipulations about cooperative research,” explained Counsellor Latypov.
