The Higher Institute of Information Technologies and Intelligent Systems took part at the annual festival 'Arenaland'

On July 21, Kazan hosted the annual multi-format festival "Arenaland", which was headlined by musicians, Ivan Dorn, Casta, NoizeMC and Murakami, this year.

The Higher Institute of Information Technologies and Intelligent Systems (ITIS) was presented in the IT section, where it demonstrated the anthropomorphic robots ROBOTIS-OP-2 and OP-3 of the Laboratory of intelligent robotic systems (LIRS).

During the day employees and students of the LIRS showed robots’ abilities to recognize a ball and hit it. Other features of the robots were also demonstrated (for example, push-ups or introducing themselves).

Visitors of the festival were particularly delighted with the ROBOTIS-OP-2 robots, which are very humanlike because of their body. Everyone wanted to take photos with robots and to see what commands do they know.

LIRS employees also told the visitors why a robo-soccer is needed, why robotics specialists will soon be in great demand, and what advantages provides education at the Higher Institute of ITIS.

The festival also included a lecture course, which involved speeches of several scientists from KFU.

"Arenaland" is a large annual festival, where a variety of venues is presented: music, sports, IT-platform, fair, lectures, food courts.
