The high school students from Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany and Israel visited the Laboratory of intelligent robotic systems

On August 24, the Higher Institute of Information Technologies and Intelligent Systems (ITIS) held an introductory tour for students from different countries. Irina Maksimova, Deputy Director for ITIS development, told about the activities of ITIS in the field of education and research. A Junior research associate of the Laboratory of intelligent robotic systems (LIRS), Tatyana Tsoy told the students in details about the work of the laboratory, student projects, opportunities and prospects for studying at the Higher Institute of ITIS for the bachelor's and master's programs «Intelligent robotics». Students learned about the anthropomorphic robots ROBOTIS-OP2 and -OP3, quadcopters, mobile robot PMB 2 and the Russian robot «Servosila Engineer», which aroused great interest among the guests of the laboratory. Students reacted emotionally, when one of the ROBOTIS robots found the ball and kicked it in the «soccer player» mode.

Martin Kravchuk, a student of the Tallinn art gymnasium: «I came to Kazan to learn more about the city's culture, get new information and discover something new for myself. The tour was very interesting and amazing for me, as this is the first time I see real robots».

Let us note that there were so many participants of the event that the tour organizers had to divide the students into three groups for perception convenience of information. The students were satisfied with the event, during which a friendly atmosphere prevailed. A genuine interest in the scientific research of LIRS among students could be seen. After completing the excursions, many students expressed their gratitude to the laboratory staff for the information they had acquired and the emotions they had received.
