Healthcare and petroleum industry projects proposed by Kazan University at a board meeting of TNKI Holding

On 29th June, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin held a regular meeting of the Board of Directors of Tatneftekhiminvest Holding.

Rector Ilshat Gafurov was recently included in the Board as well.

The main point on the agenda was planning the establishment of a world-level research and education center (WLREC). General Director of TNKI Holding Rafinat Yarullin in his greeting spoke about the priorities of the proposed WLREC. The Holding, a large-scale investment company, is currently acting as the coordinating center for WLREC.

Among the key participants of the proposed center is Kazan Federal University. At yesterday’s meeting, KFU put forth its ideas on two tracks – Medical Technology and Pharmaceutics and Hydrocarbon Extraction and Deep Refining. The former was presented by Vice-Rector for Biomedicine Andrey Kiyasov, and the latter – by Vice-Rector for Research Danis Nurgaliev.

The center will contribute to implementing multiple national projects in Russia, including Science, Demography, Healthcare, Labor Productivity and Employment, Ecology, Digital Economy, International Cooperation and Export, and Education.
