Martin Lynch, a senior research associate at the Institute of Psychology and Education, conducted research on establishing links among conditional regard, self-concept, and relational authenticity. Journal of Humanistic Psychology published the paper called “Conditional Regard, Self-Concept, and Relational Authenticity: Revisiting Some Key Rogerian Concepts Cross-Culturally, Through Multilevel Modeling”. The paper is co-authored with scientists from KFU, University of Rochester, University of Missouri and Higher School of Economics.

The study utilized statistical techniques to analyse the Rogerian and humanistic traditions. The results showed larger discrepancies between ideal and actual self-concept.
