KFU for the first time became the leader in Russia in the number of accepted for tuition at the head university, overtaking Moscow and St. Petersburg universities

In the study “Quality of admission to Russian universities: 2019”, prepared by the Higher School of Economics, it is noted that for the first time in the history of Russian higher education in 2019, excellent students (70+) were enrolled in more than half of budget places in Russian universities, and now excellence in paid places more than 30%. - We have great confidence in the monitoring carried out by the HSE; we have no discrepancies in data and interpretation. The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia has 252 higher education institutions. We took advantage of the founder’s right and set the minimum passing points for universities that exceed the minimum Rosobrnadzor score. In fact, we give the system a signal about the need and advisability of recruiting for those higher education programs those with knowledge above the minimum requirements necessary to obtain a certificate. Higher education should be provided to those who are most prepared for it, ”said Yekaterina Babelyuk, Director of the Department of State Policy in Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.

The number of universities with high and very high quality admission to free places in 2019 was 173, which is 15 more than a year earlier. The number of applicants with an average USE score below 70 decreased from 193 to 183. At five universities, the average USE score for paid admission exceeded 80.


Tatarstan was in the Top 10 regions in terms of the quality of admission to all universities: state head and branch, non-state. The average score for the budget in the republic amounted to 73.8 points, for paid tuition - 66.3 (for comparison, in 2018 the budget was 72.1; paid -65.5).

According to the authors of the study, if we talk about the overall picture in Russia, the average score of the exam passed to universities (both on budget and paid places) increased compared to 2018. The average score for budgetary admission rose by 1.3 points (from 68.7 to 70 points), for paid admission - by 1.2 points (from 62.3 to 63.5 points).

Experts note that the exam scores of students enrolled this year in their first year of undergraduate and specialization in budgetary and paid places of full-time education were analyzed.

Kazan University has become one of the universities of our country, in which there is an improvement in the quality of admission of applicants for the enlarged group "Pedagogical Education" compared with the previous period. The average mark of enrolled students (with beneficiaries and target beneficiaries) on “Education” was 78.1 points.
