Digitising Education 2019

A special session Digitising Education was organized and supported by the Department of bilingual and digital education of Kazan Federal University.  12th international conference IEEE Developments in e-Systems Engineering (DeSE2019) was held at Kazan Federal university from the 7th to 10th October  2019.The first DeSE conference was organised by eSystem Engineering in Liverpool John Moores University. Since then it has been hosted by top universities including Cambridge, UK (2018).

The conference provided a forum for disseminating the leading results in eSystem Development, Robotics, Data Science and Big Data Research, Idustry 4.0,  IoT Development, and Applications, Smart City, Smart Health, Smart Living and Smart Home, Health networking, Learning Analytics, Business Intelligence, Cloud Computing, etc. The world’s leading experts presented the results of their research collaborating with Russian educators and scientists. Professor Leila Salekhova and senior lecturer Andrew Danilov, Department of bilingual and digital education KFU, suggested organising a special session devoted to the problems of digitizing education in terms of bilingualism and globalization. The DeSE2019 organisers accepted the offer and as a result 19 prospective authors from different countries submitted their papers. Only 6 papers were accepted being double peer-reviewed by international experts.

Larisa Pershinskaya– “Virtual Learning Environment in Lexical Skills Development for Active Vocabulary Expansion in Non-Language Students Who Learn English”,

Ksenia Grigorieva – “Using LMS Moodle in Teaching CLIL: a Case Study”,

Rasulya Aetdinova – “Digitization Models of Education in Russia as the Basis of the Universities' Digital Collaborations”,

Nailya Batrova – “Organizing Independent Work of Undergraduates Using Internet-based Technologies”,

Mariia Andreeva – “Concreteness Ratings of Russian and English Most Frequent Words: Contrastive Approach”.

The audience eagerly discussed digitizing processes in education as its positive and negative consequences provoke numerous questions. Presenters and co-presenters from Russia, Iraq, Germany and Taiwan took part in professional discussions and socializing.

The accepted papers will be published in conference proceedings, included in IEEE Xplore and indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science.
