A warm welcome in Kazakhstan

December, 10 was the beginning of the educational expedition “Ambassadors of the Russian language” organized by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation together with Kazan Federal University and the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute.

On December, 9 members of the educational expedition left two Russian cities (Kazan and Moscow). This expedition is headed by Nailia Khamitovna Mingazova, the Head of the Department of Contrastive Linguistics, the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication, KFU. The methodologist is Natalya Andreeva, the Senior Lecturer at the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute (Moscow), who has many years of experience in teaching Russian language to foreign students.

Oksana Sultanova, a student of KFU, Margarita Novikova, a student of Moscow State Regional University (MGOU), Angelina Repina, a student of the Volgograd State University, are ambassadors of the Russian language. This year Mursalimova Alina, 1st year Master’s degree program student at KFU, and Gazizov Rinat, 5th year undergraduate student at the KFU, are acting as media ambassadors. The expedition members will spend 7 days working hard on popularizing the Russian language in the village of Aksukent.

The main purpose of the expedition is to promote the Russian language, culture, literature and to establish close relations between the countries. All ambassadors of the expedition were trained at the Pushkin Institute in the field of methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language, as well as in the field of intercultural communication and the history of relations between Russia and the country of the expedition. From December 10 to 16, it is planned to give classes of the Russian language with children of Secondary school №5 in the Republic of Kazakhstan, to hold a methodological seminar for teachers of the Russian language, as well as to prepare and organize a final concert dedicated to Russian art and culture, where students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge gained during this busy week.
