On November 1, 2018, at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication, in the framework of the All-Russian scientific conference-competition named after Leo Tolstoy, the workshop 'THE ENGLISH, GERMAN, and FRENCH LANGUAGES IN SYNCHRONY AND DIACHRONY' held its proceedings

The opening speech was given by the chairman of the expert commission Alina E. Rakhimova, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology. She introduced the participants of the workshop to the members of the expert commission: Albina R. Kayumova, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology; Albina F. Mukhamadyarova, assistant of the Department of Germanic Philology. She wished good luck to the participants.

16 participants represented different schools of Kazan. Topics of reports can be divided into 5 sub-topics:

1. Lexicology of the modern English, German, French languages.

2. Phraseology of the modern English, German, French languages.

3. Grammar of the modern English, German, French languages.

4. Country studies.

5. Typological studies of languages.

Members of the expert commission, teachers, scientific councilors and the participants themselves listened with attention to all the reports and asked questions. Everybody joined discussion.
