Rector Ilshat Gafurov is heading the KFU delegation on 18th – 19th October.
The forum is visited by a number of government officials, including Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Mikhail Kotyukov, Rector of Moscow State University Victor Sadovnichy, and President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
Kazan University has been actively engaged in cooperation with Uzbekistani colleagues since 2014. The key partner is National University of Uzbekistan, where a permanent KFU office opened doors very recently. Uzbekistan is currently number one in overseas enrolment in KFU.
During this visit, Kazan University plans to establish further links with Tashkent State University of Economics. Economics and management are currently the main area of collaboration for KFU and Uzbekistani institutions, and representatives of the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance are with Rector Gafurov during this visit, as well as those of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology.
Today, a number of agreements will be signed with participation from President Minnikhanov, and the first Russia-Uzbekistan Forum of Interregional Cooperation, this year dedicated to agriculture.
