Intellectual quiz 'Jeopardy Game'

On September 26, 2018, the lecturers of the Department of Linguistic and Intercultural Communication IPIC KFU, E.V.Gafiyatova, A.A. Kuznetsova and E.V. Litvinenko conducted an intellectual quiz “Jeopardy Game”, dedicated to the Day of European Languages.

The interactive multimedia quiz included various questions from the categories "Arts and Films", "Geography and History", "Philosophy", "The English Language" and "Mixed". Divided into two teams, the participants answered the questions getting from 100 to 700 points for the correct answers, depending on the difficulty of the question.

This event was aimed at expanding the outlook of students, developing linguistic and cultural competence, and increasing the motivation to learn the foreign language.

The participants highlighted the entertaining and cognitive aspects of the intellectual game, and also expressed a wish to participate in similar events in the future.

The participants commented on the intellectual quiz in English:

Loginova Ksenia: “The quiz was amazing. We had a lot of fun and practiced English in an entertaining form, brushing up our knowledge of different subjects”.

Kuprianova Daria: “To be honest, participation in the quiz felt like a breath of fresh air after having not-so-interesting classes. It was really fun and we actually learnt something new from it. I understood once again what Socrates meant when he said, “I know that I know nothing.”

Iarmieva Kamila: “The quiz was not just a game; it was an opportunity to check how much we already know, as well as to get new knowledge in different spheres. The game also contributed to our competition skills”.
