The International Summer Linguistic School continues its work at Leo Tolstoy IPIC

In August 27, 2018 Leo Tolstoy Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication hosted further seminars of the International Summer Linguistic School “Game-based intelligent tutoring systems” with the participation of the visiting professor - Danielle S. McNamara, PhD, Professor of Psychology in the Psychology Department and Senior Scientist at Arizona State University.

 A welcoming speech was delivered by the deputy director of Leo Tolstoy IPIC Iskander Yarmakeev, who emphasized the importance of introducing automated ways of text processing to the educational process and research activities. Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology Marina Solnyshkina, welcoming the participants of the International School, noted the importance of cooperation between Kazan Federal University and the University of Arizona in promoting computerized educational technologies. Danielle S. McNamara in her speech characterized Game-based intelligent tutoring systems (WritingPal, iSTART) aimed at improving the quality of the educational process. School teachers of the Republic of Tatarstan, professors of Kazan, Saransk, Almetyevsk and other universities participated in the work of the International Summer Linguistic School.
