The opening of the International Summer Linguistic School "Game-based intelligent tutoring systems" in Leo Tolstoy IPIC, August 23-29, 2018

In August 23, 2018 in Leo Tolstoy Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication the International Summer Linguistic School "Game-based intelligent tutoring systems" with the participation of a visiting professor - Danielle S. McNamara, PhD, Professor of Psychology in the Psychology Department and Senior Scientist at Arizona State University, 268 publications in SCOPUS database, 5966 citations, H-index 37, started  proceedings.

The seminar was attended by the staff of the research laboratory "Intellectual Technologies for Text Management", created under Leo Tolstoy IPIC, university professors, graduate students, undergraduates. Of particular interest was the speech of Professor Danielle S. McNamara, who revealed the features of text perception, the major aspects of teaching reading and writing skills to students and schoolchildren, reflected, in particular, in the automated training programs WritingPal, iSTART. Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology M.I. Solnyshkina in her speech emphasized the need to study the complexity of texts of Russian educational materials in order to improve their readability. Post-graduate student of the Department of Germanic Philology D.D. Sungatullina revealed the concept of text narrativity and its elements.
