Cooperation agreement signed by Yardam Charitable Foundation and Kazan Federal University

Joint efforts will be directed at helping disabled persons in their educational needs.

Yardam Foundation was established in 2007, simultaneously with the eponymous mosque in Kazan. It mostly deals with visually impaired individuals. Its complex includes a prayer room, a dormitory, a canteen, computer classrooms, a library, and even a small publishing house. However, the Foundation now looks to provide educational opportunities to those who need special assistance.

After the signing, Rector Ilshat Gafurov commented, “We will introduce new programs for disabled people and will educate professionals for the Foundation. Our students of psychology and pedagogy will intern at the Foundation and volunteer there as well.”

Yardam Foundation President Ilgam Ismagilov replied, “This agreement is a big milestone for us. Our students will have additional opportunities to receive a degree or enhance their qualifications. I want to invite you to witness how we work with visually impaired persons.”

The planned activities will be funded exclusively through donations. The Rector added that KFU plans to organize and partake in projects and events to fill the University's endowment for those purposes. The endowment has been established recently, and Yardam Foundation is going to be one of the major partners in utilizing its funds.
