New York City, USA – on the 13th of April 2018 American Educational Research Association (AERA) welcomed participants of the 2018 Annual Meeting. More than 17,000 educational researchers from all over the world came together to share insights and analyses of efforts past and present, which make public education possible.

Representatives of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication – new members and first-time attendees of AERA – associate professors of the Department of German Philology Liliya Khalitova and Albina Kayumova together with Professor Carla Meskill (University at Albany, USA) presented the report called Online Bilingual Maintenance for Young Russian Learners through Digital Fairy Tales. The report aroused great interest among listeners; in particular, a lively discussion centered on the problem of incorporating cultural realia into the content of online schools for very young learners.
