Framework agreement signed with University of Tehran

A delegation of educational executives and diplomats visited KFU on 10th May.

The team comprised Head of Professional Ethics Group of UT Ahmad Karamaleki, Counsellor on Culture of the Embassy of Iran to Russia Reza Maleki, Acting General Consul of Iran in Kazan Malekoddin Shafagat, Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies of UT Madjid Maaref, Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran Abdolhadi Fekhizade, and others. They were greeted by KFU representatives headed by Vice-Rector Linar Latypov.

After hearing to a presentation, Dean Maaref, in his turn, spoke about the structure and strategy of UT. He said, “We are officially ready to accept your students and to develop academic exchange. We can also cooperate in publishing activities and joint research. I know that special attention is paid to the Persian language in Tatarstan, and this helps us promote our cooperation on a very fertile ground.”

Dr. Latypov answered in kind, “If we can show our young people that Islam is a religion that exalts knowledge, we can find more points of mutual interest. We consider ourselves to be followers of great Tatar educators of the past.” He also proposed to establish a joint project to translate notable scientific works between Russian, Tatar, Persian, and English.

The framework agreement was then signed, and a memorandum of cooperation is expected to be signed soon in Tehran.
