The visitors were Rector of Mari State University Mikhail Shvetsov, Vice-Rector for Development of Volga State University of Technology Igor Petukhov, and Head of the Section of Industrial Development of the Ministry of Industry, Economic Development and Trade of Mari El Aleksey Vorotilov.

The team met with Rector Ilshat Gafurov. The Rector talked about the University’s current priorities with a special focus on areas that might be of interest to the visitors. They then proceeded to visit the KFU medical cluster and held negotiations with the Director of the Institute of Physics Sergey Nikitin. Talks with the Institute of Engineering and the Institute of Chemistry are also planned for today.

In December 2017, KFU signed a cooperation agreement with the Republic of Mari El. As a leading tertiary education institution in the Volga Federal District, the University has set for itself a task to promote vital research, assist local economies, and offer advanced training to professionals.
