Four groups of training in mental arithmetics for kids and some for adults opened at the University, are gaining more and more popularity.

The candidate of pedagogical Sciences, associate Professor of mathematics and applied Informatics Aigul Ganeeva became the leader of courses on mental arithmetic for children aged 6 to 9 years, as well as educators, teachers, psychologists. Aigul Rifovna told how average children can learn to calculate faster than calculators, and why the magic of the abacus is unavailable for adults.

The essence of mental arithmetic is that it includes the work of both hemispheres of the brain. We have got used that the right hand dominates in work, at the same time develops the left hemisphere which is responsible for memory, logic, the letter, the speech. But if we are always going to use the left hand, the activation of the legal hemisphere will begin, which include creativity, imagination, a musical ear, non-directional memory. Quite often we divide people into physicists and lyric poets, on domination of thrift or creativity, a task of mental arithmetics – in creation of harmoniously developed personality.

Unfortunately, the formation of this asymmetry is terminated by 12-14 years, and considerably it won't be possible to affect the adult's brain. The heads of adults are overfilled with information: work, family, television, Internet, housing and public utilities, taxes.... The child lives in the present day, coming to occupation, he devotes time only to mental arithmetics, completely plunges into work, diligently performs all tasks of the teacher, – explains Aigul Ganeeva.
