Prof. Al-Jarf from Saudi Arabia Visited Leo Tolstoy Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication

Professor Reima Al-Jarf, of King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, visited the Leo Tolstoy Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication between November 13 and December 15, 2017. During her visit, Prof. Al-Jarf taught English and Arabic as a foreign language and Saudi culture to Kazan Federal University (KFU) graduate and undergraduate students, taught foreign language teaching methods to prospective English language teachers, and supervised a joint research project with KFU faculty. At the Islamic University in Kazan, she taught teaching methodology and presented at a conference. She shared her knowledge and expertise in research, teaching English and Arabic in different countries. 

Visiting scholar Prof. Al-Jarf is a graduate of the University of Iowa, USA, is an international consultant, researcher, presenter, reviewer and inspiring teacher. She has taught EFL, ESP and Translation courses to graduate and undergraduate students in Saudi Arabia for 26 years and won three Excellence in Teaching Awards and the Best Faculty Website Award over 6000 faculty members.

Prof. Al-Jarf has 250 publications, some of which were award-winning, and some were published in ISI journals. Her publications have been cited 789 times on Google scholar, have received 57,066 reads on Researchgate and 27,360 total views (top .5%) on Academia.

She has given 350 conference presentations and conducted 50 workshops in 70 countries. She was a keynote and invited speaker at conferences in France, Korea, Indonesia, Iran, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia. Syria, Tunisia and Yemen.

Furthermore, Prof. Al-Jarf reviews articles for numerous international peer-reviewed journals including some ISI journals, evaluates faculty promotion publications, grant proposals, conference papers, textbooks and translated books for numerous institutions worldwide.
