Joint Bulgarian-Russian Center for Bulgar Studies Will Be Headquartered at Kazan University

Ambassador of Bulgaria Boyko Kotsev met with Vice-Rector Linar Latypov on October 26th.

The sides discussed the details of the forthcoming opening of the Center. The idea was voiced during the Ambassador’s meeting with President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The latter supported such a proposal.

A workgroup will be established by KFU and New Bulgarian University to further outline the organization structure and the functions of the planned Center.

“KFU researchers will be parts of project groups in archaeology, language, history, culture, ethnography, and others”, explained Linar Latypov to our correspondent.

Kazanites are now waiting for NBU to present its vision on the Center and employee appointments. Ambassador Kotsev has taken this project under his personal control.
