They are Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and Tabriz University of Medical Sciences.

The guests' two-day visit resulted in a cooperation roadmap. Vice-Rectors Linar Latypov and Andrey Kiyasov contributed to the discussion. As Deputy Head of SAU Translational Medicine Albert Rizvanov told us, there will be joint programs in biochemistry, physiology, oncological and neurodegenerative diseases, bionanotechnology, medical chemistry, regenerative medicine, and other areas. The roadmap covers the three-year period of 2018 – 2020.

He also mentioned the already obtained results of Iranian researchers' projects, “PhD candidate Leila Sadeghi used her work at KFU as the basis for her dissertation, and her takeaways were published in the prestigious Journal of Proteomics. She sincerely hopes to continue working with KFU and plans another internship for 2018 to conduct her research in transcriptomics of epilepsy.”

The sides agreed to expand short-term programs and summer schools in all of the abovementioned subjects, as well as information exchange to facilitate smoother collaboration between Russian and Iranian universities. Kazan University employees may serve as second research consultants for the dissertation which will be planned to be written on the local material. At least five master and PhD students from Iran will partake in this format. Postdocs will also arrive for long-term projects in Kazan.

Kazan University received an invitation to co-organize the 1st Caspian International Student Conference on Biomedicine, planned to be hosted by Iran in 2018.
