Professor Dhiya Al-Jumeily from Liverpool John Moores University visited ITIS

On September 20 Professor Dhiya Al-Jumeily from Liverpool John Moores University visited Higher Institute of Information Technologies and Information Systems of Kazan Federal University.

Dr. Dhiya Al-Jumeily is a Principal Lecturer in Applied Computing and leads the Applied Computing Research Group (ACRG) at the faculty of Technology and Environment at Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom. He is also the Head of Enterprise for the Faculty. 

In the afternoon, Professor Al-Jumeyli met with the Director of Higher Institute for Information Technology and Information Systems (ITIS) Ayrat Khasyanov and Head of Intelligent Robotics Department of ITIS Professor Evgeni Magid in a friendly atmosphere, where they discussed collaboration between universities in education and science. Next, professor Magid invited the guest to visit the Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems (LIRS), where Professor Al-Jumeily met with students of Master Program in "Intelligent Robotics" and LIRS Bachelor students. The students presented their research projects and achievements, and professor Al-Jumeily shared stories from his practice to further motivate students to continue their studies and research activities. Then the professors visited the "Machine Learning" class for Bachelor students that was conducted by LIRS Research Associate Arthur Sagitov.

On September 21 Professor Dhiya Al-Jumeily gave a lecture on Data Science Applications for Medicine and Healthcareat ITIS Higher Institute.
