Scientists from India visited the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of the KFU

On September 5, the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of the KFU visited Professor Jnana Kayal (The Mining Geological and Metallurgical Institute of India) and Professor Nimisha Vedanti (National Geophysical Research Institute of India).

Professor of the Mining Geological and Metallurgical Institute of Kolkata, Dr. hab.  Jnana Kayal, one of the leading experts in the field of seismology and monitoring of the hydraulic fracturing, gave a lecture for bachelors, Cuban undergraduates and courses students.

The scientists were specially invited to Kazan to speak at the Tatarstan Petroleum and Gas Chemistry Forum, which opened on September 6. The guests visited the laboratory of the Institute, the Geological Museum and discussed possible research and educational projects with the director of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies, the pro-rector of KFU Danis Nurgaliev and the director of the Center for Advanced Training Ildus Chukmarov.

«I got a pleasant opportunity of visiting the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies. I really amazed with the laboratory facility the level of research being done by this Institute. The researchers and the scientists are doing very good. I enjoyed visiting of your museum: this collection of minerals, meteorites and mammoths is really impressive. I really hope for cooperation with the Institute», - doctor Kayal said.

Professor Nimisha Vedanti of the National Geophysical Research Institute of India, in contrast to Professor Kayala, visited Kazan for the first time and noted the hospitality of the citizens: «I’m glad that I came here, it’s my first visit to Russia. And the warm that people gave to me commits to come here again and again. Very grateful for the invitation and such an organization to your University! ».
