The defense of three master's theses by «double diploma» educational program, realized with Technical University Bergakademie of Freiberg has taken place at Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies at June 23.

History of the educational program begins with creation of research laboratory «Stratigraphy of oil-and-gas bearing reservoirs». The laboratory is the unique platform for interaction of scientific KFU and the Freiberg Academy, which became ideological inspirers of the master program «Geology», « Stratigraphy».

«The idea of connection at scientific research and education has appeared us with professor Jörg Schneider at the same time within scientific work at laboratory. And we have decided to teach our students. Especially, for Germany it's commonplace experience. They have a big network of similar agreements, including with Russia, therefore the contract with KFU has been signed quickly», - the head of laboratory from the Russian side Vladimir V. Silantiev has told.

The defense of theses also has taken place in unison: Jorg Schneider, Ilya Kogan and Frank Scholtse from the German side were present at «3D GEO Centre» online. They have left the review of students master's theses and executed work. Students rejoiced to presence of the German side on protection, and have thanked the heads on both sides for aid cooperation.

Alexander Bugaev, the graduate student: «It is important to note, that our professorial chair, and Institute of Geology in general, endures the moment of rapid development. Now there take place many international conferences, programs of the international cooperation, and this program of the double diploma gives wide experience and good start for students in the academia. For that matter, Kazan State University doesn't concede in this regard to capital universities. Thanks to our University for equipment of laboratory, for an opportunity of work with the best equipment».

«The level of knowledge, which is given at Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies is very high. And already we have added the KFU's theoretical base with Freiberg academy's practical knowledge», - added Zharinova Veronika, the graduate student.

Students have also told about the further plans in scientific activity, about receipt in a postgraduate study and intentions of going to the Germany once more for working in scientific laboratories. The educational program has received a good start, and will be implemented on a constant basis.

Vladimir V. Silantiev: «The program hasn't come to the end, its going. One of our students has already begun preparation for communication with the German side. This time he will go to the Munich, because one of necessary for researches laboratory is located there».
