The agreement was signed by Rector Ilshat Gafurov and President of Skoltech Alexander Kuleshov on April 13th.

After visiting the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology President Kuleshov said, «I was pleasantly surprised by the level of equipment in your labs. I am sure that our joint startups will be mutually beneficial, and our two universities will complement each other in an optimal way».

Rector Gafurov responded, «The format of this complementing is a mighty motivator for academic mobility. We have been working in such a way with some of our colleagues for quite some time, and it yields results».

The master programs that were agreed upon are Photonics and Quantum Materials, Biotechnology, and Petroleum and Gas Industry. A preliminary understanding was reached during Ildar Gabitov’s visit on March 31st.

Postgraduate students will receive instruction from experts of both institutions. Master dissertations will also be presented before the panel comprising both sides. So this essentially is not a double diploma program, just some of the modules will be organized jointly.

After the meeting the guests from Moscow visited several other key institutes of KFU.
