Postgraduates Now Have the Opportunity to Intern at British Petroleum

Fifth BP scholarship awards were held at Kazan University on November 24th.

Vice-Rector Marat Safiullin said during the ceremony, «BP is a company with which we implement a very important project to support our best students, postgrads, PhD candidates, and researchers».

This time more than 20 young people received awards from Vladimir Drebentsov, Vice-President of BP Russia.

The monthly payments are quite substantial by Russian standards: 10,000 rubles for undergraduates, 15,000 rubles for master students, and 30,000 for PhD candidates. Research projects were awarded 10,000 USD each.

The scholarships are given to young researchers and students in petroleum science, including engineering, IT, economics, and management applications. Mr. Drebentsov said that the competition was very tough and wished everyone best of luck in their careers, be it at the University or in the industry.

Master students have now got the opportunity to intern at BP's enterprises. This has become possible because of the company establishing independent production facilities in Russia. Vladimir Drebentsov expressed hope to see some of the yesterday's triumphants on BP's premises soon.
