IT Lyceum Holds Its First Ever Farewell Bell Ceremony

The first batch of graduates comprises 54 people. They were greeted by Rector Ilshat Gafurov and many other invitees.

The Lyceum's history is only four years long. However, in this short time it has managed to solidify its place among the best schools in Kazan and Tatarstan.

The Lyceum is a specialized high school that trains future physicists, mathematicians, coders, and engineers. The Lyceum is the first experiment in creating a secondary school under the aegis of Kazan University and not the Ministry of Education and Science. All 54 pupils, who came to study in 2012, now successfully graduated.

During these four years the Lyceum has achieved significant increases in several indicators, such as:

- the number of winner of municipal stages of national science contests has risen from 31 in 2014 to 99 in 2016;

- the same metric for provincial competitions has risen from 6 in 2014 to 45 in 2016.

Moreover, 7 of the pupils won prizes at Russian national contests in 2016.

Among the guests at the ceremony was Director of the IT Park Kazan Anton Grachev. The Park was one of the participants of the Lyceum Business Incubator Project.

The Lyceum is a boarding school with a unique curriculum – uniting strenuous natural science education and sports activities. The balance of intellectual and physical work is very important for the educators and students alike.

Director of the Lyceum Timerbulat Samerkhanov was as excited as the graduates, «I hope that this is not the last day for you at the Lyceum. I have witnessed you growing up, and I am not afraid for your future. Thank you very much and good luck at the exams».

We can join the Director in this sentiment – there is no doubt that today's alumni will be as creative and competitive in their future endeavors as they have been during their studies here.
