Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement Signed by Kazan University and RIKEN

The document simplifies work procedures and charts future projects.

Until now the two sides have mostly worked together in physics and medicine. There are labs and collaborations in low temperature physics, quantum liquids and quantum gases, organic chemistry, genomics, preventive medicine and diagnostics. However, each of the labs had to be established as a separate entity with the respective formal steps. Thanks to this new agreement joint research will now be simpler than ever.

During today's meeting with President of RIKEN Matsumoto Hiroshi Rector Ilshat Gafurov expressed hope that unified potential of both institutions will help boost innovative development and personal competitiveness of the students and academics involved. He noted that this agreement is a logical outcome of more than 10 years of fruitful cooperation in different areas.

Now the list of joint projects will widen, mostly thanks to chemistry, biology, engineering, and IT. The agreement states that every new research can be launched after a formal application with assessment and outcome forecasts, no further paperwork needed. The planned forms of collaboration are academic exchange, information exchange, lectures and seminars, conferences, etc. Intellectual property rights will be divided evenly between the participants.
