Schlumberger made an E&P software donation to KFU

In November 2012, Schlumberger made an E&P software donation in the form of academic licenses to Kazan Federal University (KFU). The software licenses are intended for education and research.

In order to equip student training classes at KFU, a total 11 licenses of Petrel* E&P software platform, ECLIPSE* reservoir simulation software, PetroMod* petroleum systems modeling software, and PIPESIM* production system analysis software were donated.

The Schlumberger gift was originally agreed at the beginning of 2012, when the General Corporate Agreement was signed between KFU and Schlumberger.

Access to innovative Schlumberger software products gives the University faculty and students the ability to solve increasingly complex technical problems with the E&P industry’s leading software. In terms of software tools and the ability to develop technical workflows, this donation brings the University closer with the software tools being used by Russian oil and gas companies.

In addition, students will benefit, as a result of using the software, with a better quality educational experience, which will provide them with the technical background and tools they will need to better compete for oil and gas industry opportunities.
