The most talented and hard-working students of Kazan University got deserved praise at the ceremony on December 16th.

The yearly award gathering is eagerly anticipated not only by students but also by faculty and administration. The prizes are considered very prestigious.

As always, the meeting started with Gaudeamus performed by the University Chapel. Rector Ilshat Gafurov then proceeded with his congratulatory speech.

«Now is the day when we sum up the results of this year. I must say it was not an easy one but pretty successful. We made considerable progress in our promotion. In particular, we moved from having only 800 overseas students to 3 280 as of now. We seize new opportunities. Much has been done, and still even more is to be done. One of the most important achievements this year was our appearance in the Times Higher Education rankings at position 301 – 350. This is a good result if you keep in mind how many universities take part. This award ceremony is another sign of the correct choice of our progress direction. I wish you all spiritual tranquility so that you could fulfil all your ambitious plans. And we’ll be glad if you choose to do so at the University».

The nominees were greeted with applause and praise and received their long-awaited prizes from the University’s executives and invited guests. Naturally, everyone then gladly took photos.
