Guests from Iran Make New Cooperation Proposals

Visitors from Shahid Beheshti University expressed their wish to widen the scope of collaboration during talks on October 30th.

The Iranian delegation was welcomed by Rector Ilshat Gafurov, Vice-Rector Linar Latypov, and others. It was noted that the first PhD student should arrive to Kazan University on November 1st. Fifty more joint projects in sciences and humanities are in the workings.

«We have to further promote our longstanding ties with Shahid Beheshti University», said Dr. Gafurov.

The guests also spoke with the students of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies. President of Shahid Beheshti University Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi said, “The history itself tied Tatarstan and Iran together, we have strong cultural bonds. I am here for the second time and I am very glad to witness our cooperation”.

Director of the Department of International Cooperation of SBU Amir Shirani added, «We hope to exchange students and lecturers; we are always glad to see students of Farsi at our university».

Director of the Institute of IRHOS of KFU Ramil Khayrutdinov replied, “We have Iranian studies at our Institute. We can propose a number of programs for academic exchange”.

Among the prospective spheres of collaboration are IT and space technologies, oil and gas, Islamic studies, and some others.

Dr. Tehranchi also toured the Institute of Chemistry, the Institute of Physics, and the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies.
