President of Japan's RIKEN research labs resigns

About a month ago it was announced that Dr. Ryoji Noyori has left his President of Japan's RIKEN network of basic-research laboratories office.

For more than 11 years he has been leading this biggest research center in Japan. In a statement to colleagues and friend Noyori congratulated the institute and thanked for assistance on several achievements during his presidency.

Kazan Federal University is the only one partner of RIKEN in Russia. Initially, the cooperation started with the Institute of Physics, with the following enframe of other fields. Today KFU-RIKEN is a ground for several large research projects. Among the recent ones is the establishment of medical Research Center.

KFU Rector Ilshat Gafurov : “The partnership, enhanced by the experience, will continue. KFU will always see RIKEN as a main research partner”.

Besides that Ilshat Gafurov has invited Mr. Noyori to visit KFU and see the progress achieved from the start of the cooperation.

The Faculty of Kazan Federal University appreciates Dr. Ryoji Noyori not only for his scientific accomplishments, but also for his efforts to develop the partnership between our universities as well as between Japan and Tatarstan.
