Dr.Tao Yuan, an associate professor of the Department of Russian Language of Shaanxi Normal University (China) has recently joined the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication as a visiting scholar.

Prof.Yuan conducts a comparative study of Russian and Chinese languages, supported by modern research in the field of linguistics, psycholinguistics, cognitive linguistics, functional grammar and comparative typology of languages and cultures.

On the16th of April 2015 Tao Yuan met 2nd year students of the Department of Russian and Foreign Philology. During the meeting she explained the character of comparative study, current issues of Chinese linguistics and methodology of studying Russian as a foreign language.
