The Seiler instrument is a gift for the upcoming 215th anniversary.
Seiler, one of the oldest piano producers in the world, was founded in 1849. It was nearly destroyed during the Second World War but eventually recovered.
Dr. Gafurov purchased the piano more than a half year ago, and on 19th September it finally arrived to KFU after a prolonged renovation process.
“Some may ask – why present this gift now, not in November [during the University’s actual birthday celebrations?] I think there is no difference. I received my remuneration and decided to buy this instrument; and I am very glad to have done so because it sounds amazing. I think everyone who loves our university, our museum and this instrument will be able to play here,” commented the benefactor.
After the giveaway ceremony wrapped up, Rector also informed everyone that there is a decision to replace or renovate all other musical instruments in historical locations across the University. Musical performances are now scheduled to more actively engage our community in cultural events.
