A group of students and academics of one of the best global universities visited on February 5th.
The guests visited the History Museum and proceeded to meet with Vice-Rector Linar Latypov and KFU students and educators.
Associate Professor Xiong Jianping introduced his countrymen and noted that this is their first overseas trip, “Kazan University has deeply impressed, and we have felt that its amassed experience and potential in sciences are very big. We will strengthen our ties.” The sides openly shared their opinions on matters of national and international importance, including trade, politics, education, and basic values.
Tsinghua, being of the most prestigious universities in China, has been the alma mater for many prominent individuals, for instance, President Hu Jintao, Nobel laureates Yang Zhenning and Li Zhengdao, and others. Tsinghua currently comprises 20 schools and 58 departments in science, technology, humanities, law, medicine, history, philosophy, economics, management, education, and arts.
Employee of Tsinghua Student Affairs Office Deng Zhe said, “We have an advanced training program at Tsinghua. We invite our students to attend various foreign universities. This visit to Russia is our first within this program. We aim to discuss political climate, history, and cooperation prospects with Kazan University.”
Kazan University is one of the centers of attraction for Chinese students in Russia, with the current enrolment from the country nearing 700 people. KFU’s International Office is very active in its recruitment activities. The academic year 2017/2018 alone saw three trips to China which included visits to Beijing, Hunan, Henan, Anhui, Guizhou, and Shandong provinces.
