He sat down with Director of the School of Journalism Leonid Tolchinsky on 30th April.
Over 5,000 viewers overall joined the stream, and the peak audience was 1,100.
Here are some of the more important talking points.
On minimizing the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic
It’s also a sort of a research topic for the University. We will work on recommendations which can further help other organizations deal with such crises.
On helping students and graduates
KFU has over 50 thousand graduates this year, taking into account short-term programs and vocational programs. Together with the Government of Tatarstan, we are working on a separate employment program for students affected by the crisis. First and foremost, these are students from across the country and overseas students.
(The Rector also mentioned that the University has suspended dorm payments and is regularly distributing grocery packages to students).
On exams
Summer exams will be conducted in full. There is technological infrastructure to organize online exams. All mechanisms and regulations are in place for that.
On tuition fees and payments
There has been no sequester in curricula, so tuition fees will remain the same.
On resuming the studies in September
We hope that we will be able to resume classes on-site in autumn.
