On September 28, Ramil Khusainov, a postgraduate student of the Intelligent Robotics Department of the Higher Institute of Information Technologies and Intelligent Systems (ITIS), successfully defended his postgraduate thesis for the degree of candidate of technical sciences. The event was held in the Kazan National Research Technical University named after A. N. Tupolev (KNRTU), «System analysis, management and information processing» (05.13.01) specialty. The Dissertation Council Chairman for this specialty is Gennady Degtyarev, academician of the Republic of Tatarstan Academy of Sciences (1991), Doctor of Technical Science, professor, a Head of the Automation and Control Department, a former President of the KNRTU.
The postgraduate student presented his presentation on the topic “Motion control system for a two-legged walking robot”, the purpose of which was to increase the efficiency of algorithms for stable movement of a two-legged walking robot on a flat surface. The main results of the dissertation were presented by a team of authors in 14 scientific papers, 8 of which were indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. From 2015 to 2017, Ramil made reports on scientific results at international and Russian conferences, seminars at the Intelligent Robotics Department of KFU and at the Management Department of KNRTU.
Scientific supervisor of the dissertation’s author is professor Evgeni Magid, a Head of the Laboratory of intelligent robotic systems (LIRS) of the Higher Institute of ITIS KFU. He shared us is comments:

Opponents noted the complexity of the problem solved by Ramil and the high quality of the thesis. Moreover, the Council unanimously voted to award him the degree of the Candidate of Technical Sciences”.
