The educational program of robotics is an elite trackwithin the existing Master of Science in Software Engineering program. This program is oriented towards undergraduates of IT, mathematics, physics and engineering.
This program targets for gaining deep knowledge in robotics. Students will learn how to conduct scientific research and to acquire applied competences in the field of mobile robotics and industrial manipulators, how to handle on-board sensors and simulate robotic systems. Under the supervision of our experienced roboticists, the students will participate in various research and applied projects and gain practical skills.
Our two-year program takes best foreign robotics programs as a model and consists of 12 special subjects. The program is taught in English, which allows students an immediate acquiring of proper academic terminology and advanced developments.
While presenting the Master’s degree program, Dr. Magid explained that he had a chance to work and study in different universities around the world such as the Carnegie MellonUniversity(USA), Bristol University(UK), Tsukuba University(Japan), Technion(Israel), and now he wishes to sharethis extensive experience with students. He believes that based on the level of development of robotics in different countries, the first place among universities ultimately belongs to Robotics Institute of Carnegie MellonUniversity, where students are forced to think, seek for answers, solve problems, read books, consult with other students and colleagues.
Dr. Magid pointed out that the Master’s degree program is plannedin order to meet all the employer requirements. In addition, not only mathematicians, physicists and IT specialists from Kazan University will be involved in the teaching process, but also foreign and Russian professors from other institutes. During the studies, students will participate in research in the fields of mobile and search-and-rescue robotics, control and navigation systems technologies, group interaction of robotic teams and swarms with each other and with a human operator. After graduation, students will easily navigate through robotics theory as well as will possess the necessary practical skills. Our graduates will have flexible engineering skills that will allow them to work in Russia and abroad as well as opening their own robotic start-ups.
«09.04.04 – Software Engineering » is a two years full-time program.
For working students’ conveniences, school starts after 5 PM.
The cost of training for Russian and CIS citizens is 144 600 rubles per year, and foreigners will have to pay 271,200 rubles per year.
