Rector of Danube University visited the Institute of Psychology and Education on 21st March.
Mr. Faulhammer was invited through his involvement in Cochrane Collaboration.
As for his first ever visit to our city, he opined, “I chose the right place for my trip – Kazan University is very lively. Your new centers of master programs and teacher practice in preschool and elementary education are quite impressive.”
Danube University is known for its specialization in postgraduate programs. There are currently over 5,000 students from 70 countries.
Rector Faulhammer noted that his university is focused on continuous lifelong education. Many of the students are over 40 years old and have extensive professional experience.
He added, “Our visit is aimed at future cooperation. Firstly, we’ve looked through research areas and tried to find people who would be interested in specific projects. Secondly, we are seeking opportunities for academic exchange. Thirdly, we are talking about English language programs. Probably, at some point in the future we will be able to organize joint summer school for students, rotating between Kazan and Krems.”
Director of the Institute of Psychology and Education Aydar Kalimullin said, “Danube University’s experience is interesting because its structure and activities reflect many positive trends of the Bologna Process. Mainly, this pertains to successful integration in international education thanks to high-level teaching in the most popular areas – MBA, Master of Science, Master of Arts, and Master of Law.”
