The Department of Theory and Methodology of Professional Training was established in July 1993. The need for its creation was due to the reform of the labor training of schoolchildren, when the educational field “Technology” was included in the federal basic standard. Schoolchildren had to master the system of scientific knowledge, form a technological creative thinking, realize the technical, technological and informational picture of the world, and master technological culture.
Currently, the range of tasks of the department is wider. The priority activity of the department is the formation and development of professional competencies of students in the field of teaching, vocation, research, educational design, organizational and technological activities, as well as in the field of training in the working profession.
Over the years, the department has significantly improved the material base. The educational process in the subjects of the department is carried out in specialized classrooms, laboratories, training workshops (a classroom for teaching technology, sewing and cooking workshops, metalworking and turning workshops, woodworking workshops, forging and welding workshops, etc.)
As part of the university-wide theme of research, the department is working on the problem “Designing an integrated information environment of the professional activities of technology teacher”.
The Department of Theory and Methodology of Professional Training in conjunction with the Department of General Engineering Training annually initiates scientific and methodological events (conferences, seminars, round tables).
