In this section the Tatarica journal will publish reviews of the scholarly studies related to the Tatar language, literature, history, culture, education, etc. described in research articles, monographs and dissertations.

It is vitally important for us that reviews representing a genre of scientific literature inform the scholarly community of new publications and serve as a means of their evaluation and comprehension within the context of scientific knowledge,  reflect the current state of Tatar studies by developing the criteria of scientific work evaluation, and assist in constructing the system of quality requirements that the scientific product should meet. The objects of evaluation may include the genre of the scientific work (dictionaries, reference books, textbooks, monographs, editions, sections, etc.), the aspects of the scientific research, the methods employed, the scientific objectives, the material under study, the author’s idiostyle, the metalanguage of the scientific work, etc.

Thus, the fact that the scientific review informs the reader of the content of a new scientific publication is of significant importance for us as it helps to fully present the current state of Tatar studies. At the same time, the evaluation function of the review is of equal importance as it contains the analysis of the form and content of the paper, describes its strengths and weaknesses, and helps make conclusions and generalizations.

The Tatarica journal provides a space for various types of reviews:

– abstracts that reveal the content of a scientific paper and its features;

– short critical or publicistic articles (often polemical ) in which the work in review opens the space for discussing urgent scientific issues.

The Tatarica journal welcomes reviews of individual scholarly publications, as well as scientific surveys of a number of scholarly papers dealing with the related research issues or having similar genre features. The journal will publish:

– reviews of the latest dissertation studies of the Tatar language, literature, history, culture and education;

– book reviews of the latest research in Tatar studies;

– reviews of the latest products of the educational literature related to Tatar studies;

– thematic reviews of scientific articles and other scholarly works dealing with the common issues.
