Kazan Federal University cooperates with the universities of United States in various areas: mutual exchange of students and research staff, holding and participating in international conferences and symposiums, distance learning, etc. Within the framework of a number of agreements, such as Agreement on Cooperation signed in 2004 and extended in 2011, and Agreement with the Board of Trustees of Kansas signed in 2005, Kazan University and University of Pittsburgh implement the most long-term and stable academic cooperation.

Today, within the framework of partnership agreements and participation in joint research and educational processes, KFU works with the following American universities:

In November 2011 an Agreement on cooperation was signed with the Montclair State University, New Jersey. “Teaching in English” program was presented to KFU specialists – a program of professional development for professors of different specialties (including humanitarian, economic and social, natural and applied sciences) who do teach in English or are interested in improving their writing and speaking skills. The program is developed by the Center for International Education of the Montclair University to meet the needs and specifics of the university-partner.

In 2010 Kazan University had an enrollment of 37 USA citizens, which allowed USA to take 7th place among 64 countries on the number of students’ arrivals. In 2011 rates declined slightly - 25 American citizens enrolled in Kazan University for an internship and to take courses. In 2011 number of specialists and 12 students of Kazan University traveled to USA to participate in scientific conferences and research, and internships.
