Cooperation of KFU with African continent is realized mainly with Egypt and Morocco.

Egypt

In Arabic Republic of Egypt the cooperation is developing with Cairo University. In May 2007 the Universities signed the Agreement on cooperation. The main direction of collaboration is academic mobility in the field of philology. So, in 2011 8 teachers and 8 students of KFU passed language courses in Cairo.

Morocco

In December 2011, within the frames of the festival “Days of Arab culture”, dedicated to the Kingdom of Morocco, Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the University of Abdul Malik Al-Saadi. This agreement includes student mobility and language courses. However, before signing the agreement in summer 2011, 27 students of KFU were trained at this University. Coordinator of this cooperation is the Director of the Center of Arab culture “Al-Khadara” at KFU Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations, Dr. Al-Ammari Mohammad Salekh.

In addition to the mentioned above, cooperation of KFU with Africa is developing within the frames of training Africans at Kazan University. In the current academic year, 67 students from African countries are studying at KFU, the vast majority of them – by the referral of RF Ministry of Education and Science at the expense of the federal budget funds, in accordance with the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation of 25.08.2008 № 638. The exception is Libya – all 8 Libyans who arrived in KFU in 2011/12 academic year are graduate students on a contract basis.
