The field of professional activity of graduates who have mastered the BPEP HE includes linguistic education, interlingual communication, intercultural communication, linguistics and new information technologies.

Tasks of professional activity

translation activities:

• ensuring intercultural communication in various professional fields;
• performing the functions of an intermediary in the field of intercultural communication;
• the use of types, techniques and technologies of translation, taking into account the nature of the translated text and the conditions of translation in order to achieve the maximum communicative effect;
• carrying out information retrieval activities aimed at improving professional skills in the field of translation;
• compilation of dictionaries, methodological recommendations in professionally oriented areas of translation

The graduate of the direction is able to:

• navigate the system of universal human values ​​and take into account the value-semantic orientations of various social, national, religious, professional communities and groups in Russian society;
• be guided by the principles of cultural relativism and ethical norms that imply the rejection of ethnocentrism and respect for the uniqueness of a foreign language culture and value orientations of a foreign language society;
• take a civil position in social and personal conflict situations;
• to understanding the social significance of their future profession, possession of high motivation to perform professional activities.

General professional competencies:

The graduate of the direction is able to:

• use the conceptual apparatus of philosophy, theoretical and applied linguistics, translation studies, linguodidactics and the theory of intercultural communication to solve professional problems;
• apply a system of linguistic knowledge, including knowledge of the basic phonetic, lexical, grammatical, word-forming phenomena and patterns of functioning of the studied foreign language, its functional varieties;
• freely express their thoughts, adequately using a variety of linguistic means in order to highlight relevant information;
• use etiquette formulas in oral and written communication;
• work with electronic dictionaries and other electronic resources to solve linguistic problems.

• a method of pre-translational analysis of the text, which contributes to the accurate perception of the original statement;
• methods of preparation for translation, including the search for information in reference, specialized literature and computer networks;
• the main ways to achieve equivalence in translation and the ability to apply basic translation techniques;
• the ability to carry out written translation in compliance with the norms of lexical equivalence, compliance with grammatical, syntactic and stylistic norms;
• the ability to format the text of the translation in a computer text editor;
• the ability to perform oral consecutive translation and oral translation from sight in compliance with the norms of lexical equivalence, compliance with the grammatical, syntactic and stylistic norms of the translation text and the temporal characteristics of the source text;
• the basics of the abbreviated translation notation system when performing oral consecutive translation;
• ethics of interpretation;
• international etiquette and rules of conduct for an interpreter in various situations of interpretation (accompanying a tourist group, ensuring business negotiations, ensuring negotiations of official delegations).

Practice and research work

Practice is a type of training session that is directly focused on professional and practical training. Practice consolidates the knowledge and skills acquired as a result of mastering theoretical courses, develop practical skills and contribute to the integrated formation of general cultural, professional and special competencies.

Educational, industrial practice and performance of research work are provided.

Educational practice is aimed at the formation of primary skills and abilities of future professional activity. Educational subject practices are partly carried out on a stationary basis during the session on the basis of the departments of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of Elabuga Institute of KFU, partly independently, in the form of performing specific practical tasks.

Industrial practice allows you to get the primary experience of professional activity and ensure the readiness of the graduate for practical work. Ways of conducting industrial practice: stationary or mobile.

State Final Certification

The final state certification includes the defense of the bachelor's final qualifying work, taking into account the profile of training.

Upon completion of mastering the main professional educational program, the qualification "Bachelor" is awarded.
