In accordance with the main areas of work, the Department for occupational health safety of KFU is entrusted with the following functions:

1) identification of hazardous and harmful production factors;

2) analysis of causes of injuries, accidents and occupational diseases of employees and students;

3) assistance to the departments of the university in the organization of measurements of parameters of hazardous and harmful factors in the certification of workplaces according to working conditions, certification of classrooms, assessment of injury safety of educational, research and production equipment for compliance with occupational health safety requirements;

4) informing employees and teachers on behalf of the head of the university about the state of working conditions and the educational process, measures taken to protect against the effects of hazardous and harmful factors in the workplace;

5) conducting inspections of the technical condition of buildings, structures, equipment, together with representatives of the relevant departments of the university and trustees for occupational health safety by trade unions or labor collectives for compliance with their requirements of norms and rules on occupational health safety, the effectiveness of ventilation devices, collective and individual protective equipment;

6) participation in the development of collective agreements, agreements on occupational health safety measures;

7) development, together with the heads of the university departments, of measures to prevent accidents and occupational diseases, improve working conditions, as well as occupational health safety of the university, noted in the instructions of the supervision and oversight authorities;

8) assistance to the heads of university departments in compiling lists of professions and positions, according to which employees and students must undergo mandatory preliminary medical examinations for dangerous working conditions, lists of professions and types of work for which instructions on occupational health safety should be developed;

9) providing methodological assistance to the heads of the university's department on the development of new and revision of existing occupational health safety instructions for employees and students, labor safety standards;

10) development of programs and conducting introductory instruction on occupational health safety and with all newly employed at the university;

11) providing methodological assistance in organizing and conducting briefings: primary at the workplace, repeated, unplanned and targeted;

12) participation in the organization of training and testing of knowledge on occupational health safety of university employees;

13) coordination of draft regulatory and technical documentation: instructions on occupational health safety, labor safety standards, lists of professions and positions of employees exempt from primary instruction at the workplace, etc.;

14) participation in the development and implementation of more advanced designs of protective equipment, safety and locking devices, as well as other means of protection against the effects of dangerous and harmful factors;

15) preparation of conclusions on contracts for experimental, research work carried out at the university, for the possibility of their implementation;

16) preparation of occupational health safety reports in accordance with established forms and deadlines;

17) consideration of letters, applications and complaints of employees and students on occupational health safety issues, preparation of proposals to the head of the university to eliminate the shortcomings in the work indicated in them and responses to applicants;

18) management of the work of the occupational health safety room. Providing through the occupational health safety room of the university departments with the necessary educational and visual technical manuals, technical training tools, rules, norms, posters on occupational health safety, providing methodological assistance in equipping information stands on occupational health safety.
