The scientific work of the Department is carried out within the General scientific direction "Radiophysical research of near-earth space and information systems" and is associated with research of radiophysical problems of radio waves propagation, modeling of complex radio systems, research of information behavior in complex information systems, study of the dynamics of the atmosphere and ionosphere by radiophysical methods.
KFU is one of the world leaders in the field of meteor-ionospheric propagation of radio waves.
The Department of Radiophysics is equipped with a meteor complex with an altimeter and a radiometeor interferometric complex SKiYMETAll-SKY, a set of radio receiving equipment for work in the field of ionosphere research and radio wave propagation, LPM sensing.  A joint educational and scientific laboratory in the field of microwave design and interdisciplinary research in biology and medicine has been established with the company Ajilenttechnolidzhez. it is equipped with a set of ajilent measuring equipment for conducting studies of dialectical spectroscopy, millimeter sensing of matter, etc.
KFU cooperates with the largest Russian and foreign companies, in which graduates and dissertants after graduation can be invited to work, these are the enterprises of rostec, shvabe concern, concern "Russian electronics".
